Finished Cabinet Sides, Colour Variations and Grain Matching
Wood is a natural product. As such there can be variations from tree to tree and finished panel to panel. These natural variations are not considered defects, but marks of authenticity. Each substrate can accept finishes differently. Consequently, slight variation in colour and texture should be expected from different batches/orders. While we strive for consistency, we do not guarantee exact matches between components and/or different orders including warranty and replacement work.
Custom grain matching (laying out components so grain runs continuously across all panels) is not available and is not guaranteed under any circumstance.
Unless specified in our dealer level catalogue, all cabinet sides have exposed fasteners. Additional panels must be purchased to cover fasteners and complete the installation. When ordering from the dealer catalogue note that the interior finish of integrated finished ends will match the selected exterior finish not the interior of the cabinet box.
What's Included in Your Order?
Your cabinets ship either fully assembled or packed flat. They include all required hinges, hinge plates, drawer guides, shelf pins, door bumpers etc. Please note we do not include the handles/knobs/pulls with any of our cabinets. You need to purchase these locally and drill on site as required.
If your order is flat packed, we include all screws required for cabinet assembly. However, we do not include screws for installation (ie mounting cabinets to walls) or final drawer front securing screws.
Installation screw cover caps, extra edge banding (unglued), and additional sheet materials are all available as separate items in our catalogue and should be ordered on a as needed basis.
Placing Your Order
Orders must be placed through our online web portal. No written, fax, Email or phone orders are accepted.
We currently do not offer design consultation services or review client provided drawings.

Any change requests will be processed and revised drawings resubmitted for approval. The production completion date may be delayed if the approval process takes longer than 5 business days from initial confirmation drawing submission.
Orders must be approved in their entirety and any changes must be reflected in the confirmation drawings prior to final approval.
Payment
Payment is due in full prior to order production without exception. Once orders are approved, there are no refunds, and all sales are final.
As this is a fully custom-made cabinet product line, components cannot be recycled, reused or resold to other customers once production starts.
Production Lead Time
An estimated production completion date will be given when the order is sent back for confirmation.
Production lead times vary from week to week. All lead times given are “estimates” and never guaranteed under any circumstances. Current estimated lead times are available on our website.
Shipping and transportation times are not included in production lead time.
Changes to Orders
Orders can be changed/modified 48 hours from the time of initial submission. Changes can only be submitted by emailing info@Ukanprojects.com Changes will require a resubmittal of the confirmation drawings. The revised drawings must be approved to complete the change order. Multiple revisions (i.e. more than a single revision) will be charged at $50/revision. The original estimated lead time may also be adjusted in accordance with the scope of the order changes.
Once the order is approved (i.e. the customer has authorised us to proceed with fabrication), the order cannot be changed, modified, cancelled, batched or added to in any way. This includes combining new orders with orders in production.
Cancellation
Orders can be cancelled 48 hours from the time of initial submission. After 48 hours a $250 cancellation fee will apply. We may update our pricing from time to time. While we aim to provide as much notice as possible, we reserve the right to change prices without notice.
Customization
If an item in the catalogue doesn’t meet your requirements, we would be happy to customise it for you. Write what you would like in the comments section, and we will update the confirmation drawings accordingly. Note that the pricing will be adjusted after the initial order submittal in these situations. The cost varies on the requirements of the specific modification (time and materials) plus a $50 processing fee per custom item. IE adding a custom shelf to a cabinet might be $120 in materials and labour. So the added cost would be $120 + $50 = $170.

This warranty applies to defects in material and workmanship under normal use only and does not include damage by others (including shipping, handling, installation, improper storage, water/moisture exposure, excessive heat/cold exposure, accidents, acts of God or natural disasters etc). This warranty does not cover minor issues that can be reasonably addressed by the customer on site including, but not limited to, cleaning glue residue, minor cabinet alignment, minor chips in adjustable shelf holes and door/drawer adjustment.
If the defective cabinet components are obsolete or have been discontinued, UKAN PROJECTS reserves the right to replace the defective components with a current offering. No guarantee of interchangeability is offered.
What Qualifies as a Defect?
To be considered for warranty replacement, components must have blemishes, scratches and/or dents that expose the core of the material (ie MDF, Particle board or Plywood) on the cabinet components within the following criteria:
Cabinet Panels/Door/Drawer Fronts
- Door Face: defects larger than”?” in diameter or length
- Door Back: defects larger than ¼” in diameter or length
- Edges: When applying the edge tape there may be a pronounced seam where the edge banding and the face of the door meet. This seam may be discoloured, sharp, or have irregular pitting and possible chipped edges. Only defects that expose the core (MDF or Particle Board) of the door will be covered under warranty.
Visible Cabinet Components (Cabinet Interiors)
- Cabinet interior: defects larger than 1/2” in diameter or length
- Drawer interior: defects larger than 1/2” in diameter or length
- Note: When using plywood and/or other natural finishes, traits such as; discolouration, pitting, scratches under finish, streaking, over sanding, finish build-up, etc, may occur and are not covered under warranty for replacement.
Non-visible Cabinet Components
- Including but not limited to: Backs/Sub Front/Bottoms of drawers, exterior of the cabinet that is covered by panels, countertop etc. i.e. all those components which would not be seen in a typical installation. No defect of any size will qualify for warranty/replacement.
Warping/Twisting
As seasons change, the relative temperature and humidity of your cabinetry will vary. Consequently, warping may occur. To test for warping/twisting, carefully place the face of the door on a completely flat surface. If any corner of the door is more than 3/16” (5mm) off the surface, the door (excluding the size exceptions above) qualifies for warranty replacement.
In addition, please note that:
- Doors and panels over 24” wide and/or over 60” tall are not warranted for warping, bowing, twisting, or damage in shipping.
- Drawer fronts over 36” in width are not warranted for warping, bowing, twisting, or damage in shipping.
Painted Products
Painted finishes are susceptible to discolouration as they age and through exposure to natural light, acids (household cleaners, Lemon juice, coffee etc.) and other airborne particles (such as cooking oils, grilling, tobacco smoke, candle, and fireplaces)
These colour variations are considered to be the nature of the material in relation to their environmental exposure and are not covered under this warranty.
Paints and stains are sprayed by hand which can result in minor variations in colour/texture of the product from one batch to batch of paint. Due to the varying nature of the finish as it ages and possible variance during production, we do not offer any guarantee that any repainted or replacement parts will be a 100% match to the adjacent cabinetry.
All products ordered as “Prime Only” are not covered under the warranty. Gouges, dents, dings, primer build-up, and grain defects must be filled and sanded by the customer prior to application of finish. Unfinished materials must be finished within (10) days of receipt to maintain the integrity of the parts.
Our paint is a catalysed conversion varnish that chemically bonds to the substrate and hardens as it cures. Cure time is approximately 30 days from application. It is critical that painted components are handled with extreme care and attention during the curing period.
We reserve the right to change finish formulations without prior notice.
Reminder: After the product is shipped, any damage by others is not covered under this warranty.
Edge banding and Laminated Products
Occasionally there may be glue residue or a minor imperfection in the PVC edge banding. In addition, painted doors may have some colour/sheen variation between the PVC edge banding and the painted cabinet doors. These imperfections are not considered defects and are not covered under this warranty.
When laminate is applied, a slight shadow line of the laminate will be visible. This is caused by the polishing of the phenolic layer of the material and is unavoidable. This is not considered a defect and is not covered under this warranty.
